Ranchi: The Forest Officers' Wives Association (FOWA) hosted a lively and colorful Sawan Mahotsav on Sunday at the Palash Auditorium. The festive event was filled with vibrant cultural performances, traditional outfits, and a joyful atmosphere. Vishakha Verma was crowned the "Sawan Queen" of the evening.
The celebration opened with a soulful rendition of Ganesh Vandana, setting the spiritual tone for the evening. Members later enjoyed the symbolic Sawan swings, followed by energetic dance and music performances, as well as a variety of engaging games. Clad in traditional attire and adorned with elaborate mehendi designs, FOWA members brought the spirit of Sawan alive.
Cultural performances were presented by FOWA members including Leena Rastogi, Ranjana Samant, Seema Kumar, Ruchi Upadhyay, Ranu Shah, Poonam Ranjan, Sunandita Das, Rekha Rajpurohit, Vishakha Verma, Neema Lakhi, Priyanka Tripathi, Mahvish Fatima, Ramita Camboj, and Shweta Chaudhary.
Speaking on the occasion, FOWA President Ranjana Samant remarked that Sawan is not only a symbol of nature's renewal and the monsoon season but also a time that deepens bonds and brings joy to life.
The event was attended by several FOWA office-bearers, including President Ranjana Samant, Vice President Ruchi Upadhyay, Secretary Poonam Ranjan, Joint Secretary Sunandita Das, and Treasurer Meenu Pandian. Senior members present included Usha Sinha, Pramila Singh, Madhavi Chatterjee, Sudha Chaudhary, Sisily Jayaram, Usha Sharma, Leena Gupta, Rita Vijay, Deepti Natesh, Amita Banker, and many others.
