ED arrested three people including two employees of Kolkata's Registrar of Assurance for Land scam case

Ranchi: ED has arrested three people including two employees of Kolkata's Registrar of Assurance in the land scam case. ED took this action late on Thursday night. Those who have been arrested include Munshi deed writer Irshad of Hazaribagh, Tapas Ghosh and Sanjeet Kumar, employees of Registrar of Assurance, Kolkata. All three have been arrested in the land scam case related to former CM Hemant Soren.

On Thursday, ED had sent summons to all three and called them for questioning at the zonal office in Ranchi. After several hours of interrogation, the ED arrested all three late on Thursday night. Tapas, Sanjeet and Irshad Akhtar will be presented in the special ED court on Friday. Where ED will request the court to interrogate all three by taking them on remand. After getting remand, all three will be interrogated in the land scam case.

During the investigation, ED had received information that Hazaribagh court employee Mohd. Fake deeds were written by Irshad. In exchange for fake deed writing, Irshad had taken around eight lakhs from the already jailed mastermind Afsar Ali and Saddam. At the same time, Tapas Ghosh and Sanjit Kumar, employees of Kolkata's Registrar of Assurance, used to make blank papers disappear from land related records. After this, it was sent to the officer and Saddam. Then on the same paper, Mohd. Irshad used to prepare fake deeds.

Tapas Ghosh exchanged 21 lakhs for the documents and Sanjit Kumar paid eight lakhs. Took it from Saddam. ED has found in the investigation that Irshad Akhtar, a textile businessman from Bariatu area, used to use blank sheets of the original register there to commit fraud in the Registrar of Assurance (ROA) of Kolkata. Then fake deed was prepared.

ED has also recovered a photograph of Saddam and Officer Ali, in which they were preparing fake documents while sitting in Hotel Pearlless in Kolkata. Saddam had sent this picture to Priyaranjan. The accused used to capture land from Ranchi to Kolkata by falsifying government records.
