Acquire knowledge and skill but also to cultivate social responsibility - Chief Justice of Jharkhand

Ranchi : The Young Changemakers Programme - Rural Immersion Bootcamp organised at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi on Friday. The Chief Guest was Chief Justice of Jharkhand Sanjaya Kumar Mishra. The programme started with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp.

On this occasion Chief Justice of Jharkhand Sanjaya Kumar Mishra is being felicitated by IIM Ranchi Director Deepak Kumar Shrivastava with a shawl and momento. Chief Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra said while addressing the students of IIM Ranchi that “Students are advised not only to not acquire knowledge and skills but also to Cultivate Social Responsibility.” He gave examples of Daily life experience to students that he observed and gave judgement on criminal cases which happen in the society. 

Justice Mishra talked about liberties and values of life. He also discussed the acts and sections of the world’s largest Constitution of India. “People who are deprived and not getting economic benefits of economic justice especially in rural areas should be looked up by young generations,” Justice Mishra added. “Young generations should participate in positive change and should shape the brighter future of people of Jharkhand State,” Justice Mishra said. “Young People who are pursuing their Management course should have knowledge of Constitution and Corporate Laws, they should have problem solving abilities and manage social affairs,” Justice Mishra added.

IIM Ranchi Director Deepak Kumar Shrivastava said that “Young change makers and social innovators should have the opportunity to face challenges and should develop practical solutions to the problems.” “In today’s world we should emphasize collaboration, Cooperation and Collective Vision to develop the society.”, IIM Ranchi Director added. “There is a need to work on and write a book on Tribal Economy, Language and their culture,” IIM Ranchi Director said.

“IIM Ranchi is determined to spread positive change in the society,” Deepak Shrivastava added. Social Reformist who has been awarded for his contribution to provide Sanitary Napkins to women and underprivileged girls in remote areas of Jharkhand Mangesh Jha addressed students of IIM Ranchi. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Padman’ was based on his role. 

While addressing Students during Young Change Makers Programme Mangesh Jha Said that “People in remote areas of Jharkhand Do not have safe drinking water, sanitary napkins and hygienic living standards.” “Often in rural areas we see there is a high death rate due to lack of health facilities,” Social Reformist Mangesh Jha added.

“NeoNatal Death and Post NeoNatal Death are continuously affecting the society due to malnutrition and anemia affected women”, Mangesh Jha added. In the Concluding remarks during ‘Young Changemakers Programme’ of IIM Ranchi, Professor Angshuman Hazarika said “There is a need of the young generation to have Critical Thinking, Empathy and engagement with Local Community.”
