Financial literacy camp organized by RBI

Gumla: Financial literacy camp was organized in Government Middle School, Gumla under the aegis of  Reserve Bank of India. In this camp, views were expressed by Arvind Ekka, Assistant General Manager, Reserve Bank of India and Mrityunjay Chandra, Secretary, Sakh Foundation Ranchi and Manoj Singh, Program Manager.

Firstly Mrityunjay Chandra informed about the structure, role and various facilities provided under the bank. Along with this, information was given about the various programs being done by the Financial Literacy Center and RBI. Emphasis was laid on taking the need and concept of the bank to all the people of the society.

Arvind Ekka told that there is a great lack of financial literacy in Gumla district. That’s why it is necessary to make the people of this place financially literate. He said that we should always spend less than the income so that savings can be made. He urged the teachers to tell the children about the bank. Said that do your money transaction only in the authorized institution. Along with this, many information was told to the people to avoid being cheated by the bank.

For example, the bank never asks for any confidential information related to the bank such as OTP, PIN number, Aadhaar number, ATM number through a phone call. Refrain from giving this information. The purpose of organizing the camp in the school is that the teachers should first know the information related to the bank, then tell it to the children and the parents should get this information through the children.

So that everyone can take precautions related to the bank. On the occasion, Manoj Singh of Sakh Foundation, the implementing agency of the Financial Literacy Center in Gumla, discussed about the importance of financial literacy.
