A massive fire at a factory in Gwar village in Phase IV of the industrial area in Rajasthan’s Pali district left three workers seriously injured and two others missing, triggering an extensive firefighting and rescue operation.
The blaze, which broke out late Sunday night, was brought under control in the early hours of Monday after firefighters battled the flames for several hours.
The three injured workers were rushed to a hospital for treatment before being referred to Jodhpur due to the severity of their injuries. Meanwhile, police and rescue teams are searching for the two missing workers, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
According to reports, around 17 workers were present at the factory when the fire broke out. The flames spread rapidly, sending thick smoke across the premises and triggering panic in the industrial area.
After receiving information about the incident, fire department personnel and police teams rushed to the spot and began firefighting and rescue operations. Additional fire tenders were mobilised from Pali, Sumerpur, Rani, Falna and Sojat to help contain the blaze.
Firefighters faced considerable difficulty accessing the factory because of the intensity of the flames. A JCB machine was used to demolish a section of the factory wall, creating an opening through which rescue personnel could enter and tackle the fire from inside.
After several hours of coordinated efforts, the fire was brought under control. However, the discovery that two workers were missing prompted authorities to continue search operations at the site.
According to available information, the mobile phones of the missing workers were ringing, but they were not answering calls. This has heightened concerns among their colleagues and family members, although officials have not confirmed whether the workers remain trapped inside the premises.
Industrial Police Station personnel, City Circle Officer Manglesh Chundawat and other administrative officials reached the site and reviewed the firefighting and rescue operations. Police and fire department teams are coordinating efforts to locate the missing workers and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Officials are expected to investigate the incident and assess the extent of damage to the factory after the emergency operations are completed.
The immediate priority remains locating the two missing workers and establishing whether anyone else was affected by the blaze.
