Budget Session: CM chairs meeting of UPA MLAs, asks to give strong reply over charges of opposition

Ranchi: A meeting of the MLAs and leaders of the ruling grand alliance was called at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday regarding the budget session.

In this meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren apart from the preparations for the presentation of the budget, discussions were also held on answering the questions and strategies of the opposition parties in the House. In the meeting, all the ministers and MLAs said that they are ready for the session.

A befitting reply will be given to every question of the opposition in the House. Ministers Banna Gupta, Satyanand Bhokta, Hafizul Hasan, Badal Patralekh, MLAs Deepika Singh Pandey, Amba Prasad, Sita Soren, Congress State President Rajesh Thakur and many other UPA leaders were present in the meeting. The budget session which will start from February 27 will continue till March 24 with the state government all set to table the budget for fiscal 2023-24 on March 3.

The session will commence with the address of the Governor on February 27. On March 1 the government will table the third supplementary budget for fiscal 2022-23. During the entire duration, the house will be in session for 17 days.

The house will not be functioning between March 5 to March 12 which is a week on account of the festival of Holi. The house will recommence from March 13 and will remain in session till March 24 during which on March 19 it will not be in session as the day is Sunday which is a public holiday
