Hemant Soren seeks justice for Mamta Devi, accused AJSU of fooling people

Ramgarh: The campaigning for the Ramgarh by-polls has reached its peak with leaders of the Mahagathbandhan and the NDA going all the way out to woo the voters in favour of their respective candidates.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren who is leading the charge addressed a public meeting near Dulmi Bazaar on Wednesday. While campaigning in favor of UPA candidate Bajrang Mahto, Hemant Soren said that this was not a meeting but a people’s court which had gathered to demand justice for Mamta Devi who was falsely implicated in a case and convicted.

The Chief Minister fiercely attacked AJSU and said that these people are making fools of the people. He said that when the UPA government was in power, a cylinder was available for Rs 400 but now it is available for Rs 1200 that is why the public will have to wake up and ensure the victory of Grand Alliance candidate Bajrang Mahto in this by-election.

He said that Mamta Devi was put in jail under a well-thought-out conspiracy and the child who should have been playing in the lap of his mother has been facing hardships as some capitalist people snatched the shadow of the mother from the child and asked the people to make sure that Mamta Devi gets justice regarding this matter. Hemant Soren asked on what basis the opposition was seeking votes in Ramgarh as they did not do anything except award contracts and tenders for themselves.

The Chief Minister said that Mamta Devi is also a partner in this government and she has brought many schemes in Ramgarh assembly. 3300 people used to get pension, but with the efforts of Mamta Devi, 15,000 people are getting pension, he said adding that six thousand old people used to get pension now 45 thousand people are getting it.

12 thousand ration cards were given, but now 1 lakh 45 thousand families are getting ration while to make the future generation better, 33,410 girls were linked to Savitri Bai Phule Kanya Samridihi Yojana.

Apart from Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Minister Aalamgir Aalam, Congress State President Rajesh Thakur, former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, former MP Bhuneshwar Mehta including JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, Congress State Working President Shahzada Anwar, Dulmi Zilla Parishad member Preeti Dewan and many others were present.
