Country passing through undeclared emergency says JD-U national president Lalan Singh

Ranchi: JD-U’s national president Lalan Singh who arrived on a three-day visit to Jharkhand said that the country was passing through a period of undeclared emergency in which the Centre was using its institutions to run the country.

Addressing a press conference here he said that in the country the law and order situation of the national capital Delhi which comes under the jurisdiction of the Union Home Minister is the worst. He said that one or two incidents are bound to happen in any state including Bihar but as far as the law and order situation was concerned it was alright there.

He said that people had seen the declared emergency of 1975 but at present, the country is going through the phase of undeclared emergency. On the national political scenario, he said that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his visit to Delhi has urged Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi that since Congress was the big party therefore it should take the initiative of making other parties come to the common table but so far no such initiative has been taken. 

On the departure of Upendra Kushwaha, he said that not a single leader of the JD-U wanted him to come back and after joining he had also said that he will not go anywhere but Kushwaha has neither anything to do with the JD-U or RJD as for him his interests are a top priority. 

During the press conference, Jharkhand JD-U president and Rajya Sabha MP Khiru Mahto and Cabinet Minister for Bihar and in charge for party affairs in Jharkhand Ashok Chowdhary were also present.
