Jharkhand cabinet approves extension of free ration to 20 lakh families ; Rs 268.14 cr sanctioned for drought-hit blocks

Ranchi: The state government has approved a provision of a bond for one year of service of trainee nurses in government hospitals and state health institutions across the state on a monthly payment of Rs 10,000 per nurse. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the state cabinet which was chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the project building here. 

Briefing the press after the Cabinet Meeting Finance Secretary Ajoy Kumar Singh, who is at present in charge of cabinet coordination said that a total of 25 proposals were cleared in the meeting. He informed that earlier this practice was limited to nurses associated with the nursing college of RIMS. Now the practice will be done across the state.

Those who would not interested in training in government hospitals will have to pay Rs 1 lakh. Other approvals include an extension of distribution of food grains among 20 lakh beneficiaries covered under the Food Security scheme of Jharkhand for one year till December this year, payment of 4401 intermediate training primary schools’ Urdu teachers from the non-plan head.

Earlier, the payment was done from the plan head. The list of other approvals includes 20 percent salary increment of 1234 non-teaching staff working in 203 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas across the state, payment of due amount of Rs 2.48 crore to HEC against transfer of 647.08-acre land for Smart city in Dhurwa and conversion of 20 model schools into residential schools.

The cabinet also approved amendment in salary structure and other service conditions for chief information commissioner of the state, nomination of Outlook Group for publication of a coffee table book for the tourism department, withdrawal of Rs 268.14 crore from Jharkhand Contingency Fund (JCF) for distribution in 226 drought affected blocks of 22 districts across the state. 

The list of other approvals includes selection of Orbit Animate Private Limited for repairing of projectors at planetarium at Chiraundi, Rs 79.78 crore for construction of a composite command centre for the state in Greater Ranchi development area, Rs 30.51 crore for 6.41km road construction in Gumla, Rs 79.43 crore for 17.809 km road construction in Godda and 12 union government approved transaction advisors for development of infrastructure in PPP mode in tourist spots across the state besides others.
