CM says to accord focus on better market management for selling agricultural products

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren held a meeting with the officials of NCDEX e-markets Ltd NeML an integrated e-market platform at the project building here. The meeting focused on preparing a better action plan for agriculture and farmers’ welfare in the state and increasing the income of farmers. 

In the meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren told the officials that the government is constantly trying to increase the income of the farmers here but there is a need to prepare better market management so that the farmers of Jharkhand can get a fair price for the goods produced by them. 

The Chief Minister said that the facility of digital marketing should also be made available for the online sale of vegetables produced by farmers. The Chief Minister said that under the NeML pilot project, 4 to 5 places should be selected soon and a better action plan should be prepared and the report submitted to the concerned department.

He directed the officers of NeML to enhance the capacity of the employees of the Farmer Producer Company and the farmers by training them on how to use modern techniques from time to time. The Chief Minister said that forest produce is found in abundance in the state. NEML should coordinate with the Sidhu-Kanhu Agriculture and Forest Produce State Cooperative Union Ltd for the purchase and sale of minor forest produce and provide better market management facilities to the farmers here.

He said that the state government is laying emphasis on market management so that the farmers of the state can get a fair price for their produce. On this occasion, Mrigank Paranjpe, Managing Director and CEO, NEML also placed a power point presentation regarding the action plan before the Chief Minister. Mrigank Paranjpe said that NEML in partnership with Jharkhand Government wants to play its role in increasing the income of the farmers of the state.

He said that our organization will work with a commitment to bring positive change in the standard of living of lakhs of farmers of the state by using modern technology.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Rajeev Arun Ekka, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakar Siddiqui and other senior officials of the concerned department were present.
