HC seeks reply on teachers’ test from State Govt, NCTE

Ranchi: The Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday issued notices to the state government and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) for not holding the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test (JTET) examination since 2016.

Seeking a reply in the matter, the court deferred hearing in the matter for four weeks. Earlier, appearing in the case senior advocate Ajit Kumar assisted by Kaushal Kumar let the court know about the consequence of delay in the eligibility test.

The Teacher eligibility test is not being conducted in the state since 2016 when teachers are to be appointed in the state. As qualifying the teacher eligibility test is a must to participate in the recruitment test, many deserving candidates will be deprived of the opportunity to appear in the recruitment test, Kumar said
