Universal Pension Scheme: 9,74 lakh beneficiaries added in one year of implementation scheme

Ranchi: The ruling government is running the Universal Pension Scheme to provide its benefits to the people who are deprived of pension. The positive effect of this scheme is now being seen. The pension scheme was started on 18 November 2021. Then the number of beneficiaries taking pension in Jharkhand was 10,37,284.

After the instructions of the Chief Minister, the number of beneficiaries has reached 20,11,985 in just one year due to the better initiative of the administrative system. This figure is till that of 26 December 2022 which means there has been an increase of 9.74 lakh (9,74,701) in the number of beneficiaries taking pension in one year. Jharkhand is the first state in the country to implement Universal Pension Scheme.

Under the pension scheme, pension is being given to all the elderly above 60 years of age. Destitute people and widow women above 18 years of age are also being given the benefit of the scheme. Preference has also been given to the disabled in the scheme. This is the first time that the requirement of APL and BPL cards has been removed for this.

This is the biggest feature of this scheme. In order to make the benefits of all government schemes including pension available to the common people, the Aapki Adhikar-Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar program was launched at the government level in the years 2021 and 2022
