Government should work to protect the identity and traditions of tribal: Babulal Marandi

Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and leader of the legislature wing of BJP Babulal Marandi has suggested the state government to work to protect the identity and traditions of the tribal communities living in the state. Speaking to Reporter Post here he said there are a total of 32 tribes living in Jharkhand here and they have their different set of problems but the larger issue is that their identity, religious beliefs and traditions are facing danger therefore the government should ponder upon them and take steps to protect the same.

Adding further he said that it is not like nothing has happened in the state over the last 22 years but there are several more things that need to be done. Marandi said that for development it is important to improve the basic infrastructure of any state. 

Recalling the days when the separate state of Jharkhand was carved out he said that there was a lack of power and roads in the state and even the Maoists were running a parallel government in the state. He said that when the separate state of Jharkhand was carved out and he took charge he accorded focus on rural connectivity and at that time BJP was in power.

He said that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government through Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojana linked rural and roads and he started a campaign to build bridges and culverts in rural areas whose benefits were reaped by the people. He suggested the need to improve the electricity scenario in the state.

In the area of medicine and health, there were medical colleges in the state and three new medical colleges have been
added and even an AIIMS has come up here and if one will make an analysis of works under the BJP governments whether it was that of Babulal Marandi Arjun Munda or Raghubar Das one will find that they had made efforts to improve the basic infrastructure of the state and with full strength had tackled the LWE incidents.

He said that Maoist incidents have been reduced is not but they have not been completely wiped out but overall yes challenges have taken place in the state. Commenting over the functioning of the state government he said that Hemant's Government tenure is not less as even he had worked for a 28 months tenure the work started by him in this state the people still remember the same and recall the works done in rural connectivity and LWE extremism however he said that three years is not less time.

He said that the entire world battled Coronavirus and its horrors and the three-year time was a tragedy for the human race despite the three years the government could have worked but it did not work but remained busy in money making in state. 

Attacking further he said that around the state government middlemen are running the government and consent for the same comes from higher authorities as then only loot of coal, iron ore sand and even loot of land is happening here. He went on to claim that corruption is prevailing from top to bottom even officials say that they have to give the money to the top so they will take the money but overall the situation is very painful and worth thinking about in the state.

On the issue of Sarna's religious code, he said that it has been the demand of the people for the last many years for separate religious incidents and more than 100 such applications pending before the central government and even during the congress demand was being made. He said that every government works as per the procedure even to include communities in caste categories necessary parameters have to be followed.

Marandi said that he had demanded the state government to hold debate and discussion when a person is not ready to listen to anyone, what can one say right and wrong. On his relationship with Independent MLA Saryu Rai, he said that he has a healthy relationship with him as all of them are working for a mission for the nation.

On the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi, he said that it has finally emerged the BJP is currently in the strongest position in the country and all have tried but it has emerged that they cannot stop alone whether in UP or other states but could not stop BJP but in politics, it does not matter as BJP marches ahead over its works and ideologies.
