Christmas celebrated across Jharkhand

Ranchi: The festival of Christmas which is celebrated to mark the birth of Jesus Christ was celebrated across the state with enthusiasm and gaiety. 

At all the prominent churches of the state including those in the state capital Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti, Lohardaga, Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, Bokaro, Dumka, and Pakur mid-night mast was organised where a large number of people including young and old turned up to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus.

Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais and Chief Minister Hemant Soren also extended their greetings to the people on the occasion. 

The joy of Christmas did not remain confined to the homes and the areas dominated by the Christian community but it was visible all across the state capital with people cutting across all sections and communities turning up to enjoy the festival.

Not only the churches and cathedrals were decorated the people also lighten up their homes and localities as part of the celebrations.
