CBI files reply in Jharkhand High Court on Lalu’s bail, hearing will be held on April 22

Ranchi: The troubles of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, convicted in the fodder scam case, have increased further as the reply has been filed by the CBI in the Jharkhand High Court on the petition filed for the bail of the former Chief Minister of Bihar.

Sources are claiming that the CBI has said in its reply that Lalu has not completed half the sentence in this case. Whereas Lalu Prasad has claimed in his petition that he has spent 41 months in jail in this case. Whereas half the period of punishment will be 30 months only.

The CBI court has sentenced Lalu Prasad Yadav to 5 years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 60 lakh in connection with the illegal withdrawal of funds from Doranda treasury. Against this, Lalu Yadav has filed an appeal in the Jharkhand High Court has requested bail. A hearing on Lalu’s bail is scheduled in the Jharkhand High Court on April 22. Lalu Yadav is undergoing treatment in Delhi AIIMS.
