Rainfall throws normal life out of gear in many areas, rains to continue till October 3 in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Various districts of the state have been receiving heavy rains for the last 24 hours with incessant rainfall disrupting the normal life of people in various areas of the state.

As a result of the heavy rainfall, rivers are overflowing. Crops are getting ruined in hundreds of acres of land and river water has entered into the homes as a result of which people are leaving their homes and running in search of a safe place.

At the same time, traffic has been disrupted in many areas due to the overflow of river water on the roads. According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued in the state for the next three days while a heavy rain alert has been issued in the border districts of Bengal. The weather station in Ranchi said that due to a low pressure built in the Bay of Bengal rainfall was taking place in Jharkhand. The rains are expected to continue in the state till October 3. The districts which are located near Bengal including Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur, Sahebganj, East and West Singhbhum, Simdega, Saraikela etc and districts located in the western area including Palamu, Garhwa, Koderma, Chatra, Latehar and Lohardaga have been predicted to get heavy rainfall.

Due to the incessant rains, the water level of the Hinglo river in Jamtara was so high that water has entered the Baghdehri village as a result of which the people of the village are moving towards a safer place. Paddy crop was ruined as the fields have been submerged by water. Villagers said that after almost 20 years there has been a flood in this area. Many low-lying areas including Bata Gali, Rahim Ganj, Rani Bagh of Phusro in Bokaro have been flooded. Somewhere there is water at 4 feet and somewhere at 5 feet. In such a situation, people left their household items and went to higher areas to save their lives. In Bermo-Koylanchal, water entered the subdivisional hospital, disrupting normal life in different areas of Bermo- Koylanchal due to incessant rains since Wednesday night. At the same time, the patients and their dependents have become troubled due to waterlogging in the sub-divisional hospital.

Local people in Bata Gali said that from 12:00 in the night, water entered the houses here, which has gradually been filled up to 4-5 feet. In such a situation, people left their household items and went to higher areas to save their lives. Due to incessant rains in Bermo, the culvert connecting Karipani and Kalyani area was washed away. Due to which hundreds of people of Kari Pani Mandir Colony and Kalyani have started facing a lot of trouble.
