CM review: Illegal mining should be stopped at all costs, to prevent revenue loss

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that illegal mining should be stopped at any cost so that there is no loss of revenue to the government. Chief Minister Hemant Soren gave these instructions during the review of the Mining and Geology Department.

On this occasion, Departmental Secretary Pooja Singhal apprised the Chief Minister that a district-level task force has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner to check illegal mining. The Departmental Secretary said that an amount of Rs 7,693 crore has been received in the last 6 years under the DMFT fund. 

Out of this, Rs 3,120 crore has been spent on various schemes. She also informed that in view of Covid-19, permission has been given to spend the amount for medical infrastructure under the DMFT fund which also includes setting up an oxygen plant.
