Los Angeles — Model and author Chrissy Teigen recently joked that buying a drum kit for her children may not have been the best decision, after her youngest kids eagerly began experimenting with the noisy instrument at home.
Teigen, 40, shared a glimpse of the moment on Instagram Stories, showing her two youngest children — daughter Esti Maxine, 3, and son Wren Alexander, 2 — enthusiastically playing with their new drum set. Their father, Grammy-winning singer John Legend, 47, was also seen helping assemble the instrument before the kids started drumming away.
In one clip, Wren could be seen banging the drumsticks loudly while Legend worked on setting up the kit. Esti sat beside her father, curiously picking up different parts of the instrument. Watching the scene unfold, Teigen humorously captioned the video, “What have we done?”, suggesting she might already be reconsidering the gift.
Another video showed the two toddlers striking the cymbals with excitement while Legend finished putting the instrument together. As the impromptu performance continued, Teigen turned the camera toward herself and jokingly hid under a blanket, apparently overwhelmed by the loud drumming.
Teigen and Legend are also parents to two older children — daughter Luna Simone, 9, and son Miles Theodore, 7.
Earlier this year, Teigen hinted that Luna might be the one in the family most likely to follow her father’s musical path. Speaking at the finale taping of Netflix’s Star Search, she said Luna has a natural stage presence and enjoys performing in school plays.
However, Teigen added that Luna prefers keeping it fun rather than pursuing it seriously for now. When the family suggested enrolling her in a professional theatre school, Luna reportedly declined, choosing instead to enjoy performing simply as a hobby.
