Mumbai — Television actress Nia Sharma has revealed that her favourite film is the 2007 romantic comedy Namastey London, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Nia reshared a post featuring a song from the film, which was picturised on Akshay and Katrina. The post included the text: “We almost forgot this gem. But once it ruled our playlist.”
Reacting to the post, the actress wrote, “All time favourite movie and the songs.”
Directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Namastey London released in 2007 and also featured Rishi Kapoor, Nina Wadia, Javed Sheikh, Upen Patel and Clive Standen in key roles. While some critics pointed out similarities with the classic film Purab Aur Paschim, the director had earlier clarified that Namastey London was not a remake.
Apart from sharing her movie preference, Nia also posted glimpses from a recent outing with friends. The actress shared pictures and videos of the food she enjoyed and joked about her love for street food.
“Sometimes I live for my taste buds,” she wrote alongside one of the posts.
In another story, she showed a tray full of golgappa and humorously blamed a friend for encouraging the indulgence. “That one friend jisse dekhte hi panipuri khane jaate hai,” she captioned the post.
On the professional front, Nia is currently seen as a playful troublemaker in the youth reality show MTV Splitsvilla Season 16, also known as Splitsvilla X6. The show, which airs on MTV India, is hosted by Sunny Leone and Karan Kundrra.
The dating reality show brings together young contestants who compete in challenges and form connections while staying together in a villa, ultimately aiming to find love and emerge as the winning couple.
Nia recently shared behind-the-scenes moments from the show and admitted that she “almost dropped a tear” while posting the pictures.
Over the years, the actress has built a strong presence on television with roles in shows such as Behenein, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Meri Durga and Kaali – Ek Agnipariksha. In 2020, she also won the stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi: Made in India.
She has also appeared in web series like Twisted and Jamai 2.0, and is currently back on the sets of the new edition of Laughter Chefs Fun Unlimited.
