Ayan Mukerji on ‘Aavan Jaavan’: Felt Joy When Italy Was Finalised as the Location

Mumbai – Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has opened up about the making of the song “Aavan Jaavan,” featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. He shared his excitement over choosing Italy as the backdrop for the romantic track.

The song was shot across some of Italy’s most iconic and picturesque locations — from the peaceful countryside of Tuscany to the lively streets of Rome.

Explaining the creative vision behind the song, Ayan said, “We needed a beautiful setting for this love song — something that felt like a vibrant travel experience, where two people in love are exploring the world together. So I was really happy when we finally selected Italy as the location.”

Choreographer Bosco Martis also praised the setting, saying, “The song feels like we’re in an exotic, stunning destination. Tuscany gave us such a rich visual palette — it was incredible.”

Reflecting on the experience in Rome, Ayan said, “Filming in Rome was a big deal. I knew we had to shoot at iconic spots like the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain. These are challenging locations, especially in terms of getting permissions.”

“But everything fell into place. We managed to shoot at all these famous landmarks. We’re truly proud of what we accomplished.”

The results of their hard work are clearly visible in every frame.

“There was a great vibe among the crew while putting this song together. It’s a beautiful track. We enjoyed making it, and I hope the audience enjoys the music and the visuals just as much,” Ayan added.

‘War 2’ is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film is set to release worldwide on August 14 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
