Alia Bhatt Unveils Glamorous Cabaret Look in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War

After unveiling Ranbir Kapoor’s rugged first look, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has now introduced Alia Bhatt’s character from Love & War, giving fans their first glimpse of the actress in the much-awaited period drama.

The newly released poster presents Alia in a striking cabaret-inspired avatar, marking a dramatic departure from the rugged look revealed for Ranbir’s character.

Bhansali Productions shared the poster on social media, showing Alia seated against an elaborate backdrop of red curtains and glittering lights. She is dressed in a wine-red sequinned ensemble featuring a cropped blouse and flowing skirt, complemented by feathers that accentuate the theatrical cabaret aesthetic.

The styling and stage-like presentation evoke the visual language of classic Bollywood cabaret performances, particularly those associated with legendary actress and dancer Helen during the 1960s and 1970s.

Sharing the poster, the production house wrote: “Aag bhi, dilon ki jaan bhi!” and announced that Love & War will hit theatres on January 21, 2027.

The reveal comes a day after the makers released Ranbir Kapoor’s first look. In the poster, Ranbir appears in a distinctly retro avatar, sitting behind the wheel of a vintage car with slicked-back hair, sunglasses and a moustache.

The otherwise composed appearance is contrasted by a bloodied arm and a bullet mark on his shirt, hinting at the film’s war setting and the intensity surrounding his character.

Ranbir’s poster carried the caption, “Woh rutba, woh raub, woh junoon!” and confirmed the film’s theatrical release date. Alia also shared his first look on social media, writing, “Hey Handsome.. Love & War in cinemas, January 21, 2027.”

Love & War brings together Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles, with Bhansali serving as both director and producer.

The successive character reveals have begun to build anticipation around the film’s period setting, elaborate visual style and the contrasting personas of its central characters ahead of its 2027 theatrical release.
