India Condemns Fujairah Attack, Calls It ‘Unacceptable’ After Indians Injured

India on Tuesday strongly condemned the attack in Fujairah, where three Indian nationals were injured, and urged an immediate halt to hostilities targeting civilians and infrastructure.

In an official statement from New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs described the incident as “unacceptable” and called for restraint. “We call for immediate cessation of these hostilities and the targeting of civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians,” the statement said.

The injuries occurred during attacks on Monday (local time), with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Foreign Affairs attributing responsibility to Iran. The UAE termed the strikes “unprovoked aggression” carried out using missiles and drones, targeting civilian sites and facilities.

India reiterated its long-standing position that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path forward in the region. It stressed the need to restore peace and stability across West Asia and also underlined the importance of maintaining free and secure navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.

The Embassy of India in the United Arab Emirates confirmed it is in close contact with local authorities to ensure proper medical care and welfare for the injured Indian nationals.

Meanwhile, the UAE reaffirmed its stance, stating it would not tolerate threats to its sovereignty and reserved the right to respond in line with international law to protect its national security and territorial integrity.

The incident has heightened tensions in the Gulf region, with renewed calls from multiple sides for de-escalation and adherence to international norms.
