"We have increased police presence in all districts on the Delhi-Haryana borders and the anti-CAA protest sites have also been put under scanner. We are keeping a close vigil on the situation and intelligence agencies have also been asked to give inputs on the developments. We will not allow miscreants to create trouble in UP," said a senior police official.

Extra forces have been deployed at the Clock Tower protest site which witnessed clashes on Sunday when an unidentified person opened fire.

The death of a girl at the protest site has also sent temperatures soaring. The girl died after she fell ill while sitting at the site during rains last week.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also asked top civil and police officials to remain alert about the situation in the state.
