
Digvijay Pratap Singh of Roundglass Tennis Academy continued his strong run, defeating Makar Krivoshchekov 6-3, 7-5 to reach the quarterfinals of the Roundglass ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour M15, held at the Chambal Tennis Association courts in Gwalior on Thursday.
Another Roundglass player, Nitin Kumar Sinha, put up a solid performance to overcome seventh seed Manish Sureshkumar 6-2, 6-4 and join the last eight.
Top seed Aryan Shah showed composure in his 6-2, 6-4 victory over Australia’s Adrian Arcon, while Rohan Mehra booked his quarterfinal spot by defeating fellow Roundglass athlete Hitesh Chauhan 6-4, 6-2.
In other matches, Maan Kesharwani fought back after losing the first set to beat Roundglass player Arjun Rathi 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Kazakhstan’s Grigoriy Lomakin recorded a 6-3, 6-3 win against Sarthak Suden, and Raghav Jaisinghani moved ahead with a hard-earned 6-4, 7-6 win over Dmitry Bessonov.
In the doubles draw, the top-seeded team of India’s Ishaque Eqbal and Kazakhstan’s Grigoriy Lomakin stormed into the semifinals with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Roundglass duo Vivaan Bidasaria and Aashravya Mehra. The second-seeded pair, Aryan Shah and Atharva Sharma, also entered the semifinals after a convincing 6-3, 6-1 victory over India’s Parth Aggarwal and Udit Kamboj.
Earlier in the tournament, Arjun Rathi stunned second seed Sidharth Rawat to enter the second round. The 18-year-old wildcard entrant defeated the Indian No. 7 in a gripping match 7-5, 5-7, 6-3.
Sixth seed Digvijay Pratap Singh advanced to the second round after a routine 6-4, 6-2 win over Madhwin Kamath. Rohan Mehra added to the upsets by defeating eighth seed Preston Brown of the USA 6-4, 6-2. He will meet Junior India No. 1 Hitesh Chauhan in his next match.
Top seed Aryan Shah cruised past Jim Hendrikx of the Netherlands 6-2, 6-3 to reach the second round, while Roundglass player Nitin Kumar Sinha beat academy teammate Shankar Heisnam 6-3, 6-3.
Among other Indian players, Aashravya Mehra narrowly lost to Australia’s Adrian Arcon 6-7, 5-7, and third seed Chirag Duhan exited early after a 6-2, 6-4 loss to neutral athlete Dmitry Bessonov.
