ISRL Season 2 Rider Auction Draws Global Stars, Sets New Benchmarks in Motorsport

Pune – The Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL), the world’s only franchise-based supercross platform, made headlines off the track with its Season 2 athlete auction. With bidding wars, high-value signings, and new talent joining the circuit, the event reinforced that Supercross in India has become more than just a sport—it’s a marketplace of speed and star power.

ISRL remains the only motorsport property worldwide where riders are signed through a formal bidding system, blending competition, commerce, and entertainment into a unique format.

Riders from Australia, Europe, the USA, Indonesia, Japan, and South Asia dominated the auction, keeping team owners engaged throughout. France emerged as the leading contributor with 13 riders securing contracts across different franchises.

American rider Kyle Peters fetched the highest bid of the night at ?20.7 lakh, while local star Rugved Barguje stood out for the Indian contingent, signing a record-breaking ?9.5 lakh contract—one of the highest ever for an Indian in ISRL history.

The battle for Hugo Manzato and Calvin Fonvielle triggered some of the most dramatic bidding exchanges of the evening. At just 16, Australia’s Jack Nunn became the youngest entrant in the 250cc category, marking a generational shift in the sport.

Among the franchises, Indewheelers Motorsports secured Greg Arenda and Maxime Desprey, while Tricolor Motorsports picked Adrien Malaval and Paul Haberland in the 450cc class.

In total, six franchise teams spent a record ?6 crore at the auction, a milestone that highlights ISRL’s growing commercial appeal.

“ISRL is not just building a racing league—we’re creating a new sports economy for India where athletes, teams, brands, and fans converge. Season 2’s auction shows that India is ready to embrace motorsport at scale, and this is only the start of our global journey,” said Veer Patel, Director of ISRL.

Of the 155 riders under the hammer—including 109 international and 34 Indian athletes—only 36 were ultimately signed.

Fans can catch the action live this October–December in Pune, Hyderabad, and Kerala, or join online with the hashtag #FlirtWithDirt. With rosters now locked in, the league will kick off its second season in Pune this October, promising an electrifying mix of racing, entertainment, and fan engagement.
