SpiceJet operates India's first flight partially powered by bio-fuel

Budget airline SpiceJet on Monday successfully operated India's first test flight partially powered by biofuel, marking a significant step towards the use of cleaner fuels in the aviation sector.

A SpiceJet Q400 aircraft operated the test flight from Dehradun to Delhi using a blend of biofuel and conventional aviation turbine fuel (ATF).

The aircraft was received at Terminal 2 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi by senior Cabinet ministers and top management officials of the airline.

The test flight demonstrated the potential of biofuel as an alternative fuel source for commercial aviation and could pave the way for greater adoption of sustainable aviation fuels in India.
