Delhi Ashram Director Accused of Molesting 17 Women, Using Fake UN Plates, Remains Absconding

New Delhi – The director of a prominent ashram in Delhi’s upscale Vasant Kunj area has been accused of sexually harassing multiple female students and is currently absconding, police said on Wednesday.

The accused, Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati (also known as Partha Sarathy) of the Sri Sharda Institute of Indian Management, allegedly targeted students enrolled in post-graduate management diploma programs under the economically weaker sections (EWS) category. Out of 32 women who filed statements, at least 17 accused him of sexual harassment, including lewd text messages, abusive language, and forced physical contact.

Victims also claimed that some women faculty and administrative staff pressured them to comply with the accused’s demands. Several students alleged that ashram wardens introduced them to him, according to police.

In a shocking development, investigators said Chaitanyananda was found driving a luxury Volvo car with a fake United Nations number plate (39 UN 1), which he had fabricated himself. The vehicle has since been seized.

“A case of sexual harassment and other relevant charges has been registered against Swami Chaitanyananda,” confirmed Amit Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-West District. He added that the accused has been missing since the complaint was filed.

Police have examined CCTV footage and conducted multiple raids at the ashram and the accused’s residence, but Chaitanyananda remains untraceable. Investigations are ongoing.
