
Ranchi: Onion has become such a rare commodity these days that people are resorting to all possible means to get their hand on the key ingredient of the kitchen.
In one of it’s kind incident a group of men posing as policemen tried to loot an onion laden vehicle but due to the prompt act by the original police they ran from the spot leaving their vehicle behind.
The victim trader Durga Sahu said that he had come from West Bengal to buy onions and garlic from Pandra market and was returning back through ring road when these fake policemen stopped the pick up van and beat up the driver and made him to flee from the spot.
He said that there was five quintal onion in the vehicle however an alert was given on 100 the pick up van was seized. Earlier similar incidents had taken place in Bihar and Maharashtra.
