
Ranchi: Principal Secretary to Chief Minister cum Secretary of IPRD Sunil Kumar Barnwal has directed to ensure the reach of the department to every home and every village of the state.
Chairing a review meeting of the IPRD department here he said it was the work of the department to ensure that schemes and policies of the state government reach to the last person in the society.
He asked the people involved in public relations to bring a change in their working culture and come out with quality news release, success stories, news of the week and create awareness regarding the policies and programmes of the state government.
Mr Barnwal said that the officials of the IPRD needed to act as a bridge between the government and the people and asked them to directly place the schemes and policies of the state government before the people through different media mediums.
Outlining the key purpose behind creating awareness regarding the policies and programmes of the state government he asked the officials to make the best use of their strength and effectively take out the schemes before the people.
He said that in far-flung areas including haat-bazaar, chowks of the villages through banners posters nukkad nataks dance drama the people should be detailed about the schemes of the government.
He asked the officials to make the best use of the LED vans to create awareness regarding the schemes of the state government so that people even in remote areas of the state can take advantage of the government schemes.
He said that after advertisement feedback should be taken from the people regarding the impact they had on the people and how it was proving beneficial for them. He directed that every day in three villages of a panchayat the LED vans should be moved.
Dr Barnwal said all the officials who are involved in creating awareness should establish coordination with the officials of the other departments and also create awareness regarding the achievements of the various other departments.
He said that for the welfare of the journalists' pension scheme and Life Insurance Scheme has been notified and workshops should be organized so that the journalists can be informed about the rules of these schemes and even a hardcopy of these schemes should be distributed among them.
He said that a guideline over these two schemes should be prepared and given to the DPROs so that they can encourage journalists at the district level to take advantage of these schemes.
He directed that within 10 days the workshop should be organised so that they can be informed about the various schemes of the state government. IPRD Director Ram Lakhan Prasad Gupta said that the reach of the department has expanded in the state and the department was a big medium to ensure reach of government schemes among the people.
He said that working can be further improved and suggested all work in a target-oriented manner. He asked the DPROs to submit their report on time so that the assessment of their works can be made.
