Government order on new motor vehicles act is election gimmick: JMM

Ranchi: After the state government put prohibitory orders for a period of three months against the imposition of fines under the amended new motor vehicles act the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has termed the orders as an election gimmick.

Party spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that fearing the anger of the people before the polls the Chief Minister has bowed down before the people.

He said that Maharashtra which is the home state of Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has decided not to impose any of the provisions of the new act while even in BJP ruled Gujarat the provisions have been changed and the fines have been reduced to half but under what compulsion the BJP government in Jharkhand was willing to impose the act is beyond understanding.
