Celebrations across state as Centre announces scrapping of Art 370 from Jammu and Kashmir

Ranchi: People across the state erupted in celebrations after Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the scrapping of Article 370 granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

As soon as the news spread people carrying the national flag in their hands came on the roads and also indulged in distributing sweets among the people at prominent spots in their respective areas. The BJP workers in the state were spotted dancing to dhol and nagadas following the announcement. The BJP workers not only busted firecrackers but have also decided to light up diyas in front of their homes in the evening.

In the state capital, a large number of people including BJP workers gathered at the Albert Ekka Chowk who indulged in the distribution of sweets, busted firecrackers and also indulged in slogan shoutings of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram. Reports from other districts including Dhanbad, Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Dumka also said people were seen celebrating across the prominent spots in their
cities.

Meanwhile, in wake of the advisory issued to the state the Jharkhand Police too was on an alert mode in the state. In state capital Ranchi elaborate security arrangements were made as across all sensitive spots of the cities an adequate number of police personnel were deployed.

Special attention was also accorded to sensitive areas in the state and even guidelines were issued to ensure the safety of students of Jammu and Kashmir. The people were also urged not to fall prey to rumours and the state machinery was instructed to take special steps to spread fake information.
