Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania held a public grievance hearing on Friday and directed officials to ensure the timely resolution of complaints concerning welfare schemes, land disputes, electricity bills and other public issues.
Residents from urban and rural areas brought forward grievances related to land acquisition compensation, the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana, pensions, housing and other matters. The Deputy Commissioner heard applicants individually and assured them that their complaints would be examined and addressed at the earliest. Some issues concerning ration cards, pensions and revenue matters were also resolved on the spot by the departments concerned.
Bhuvania directed officials to ensure that Rekha Devi was promptly covered under the ration card and Ayushman Bharat schemes, emphasising that no eligible beneficiary should be deprived of government welfare benefits.
Taking note of alleged irregularities in the selection of an Anganwadi worker at the Hussainabad Anganwadi Centre, he instructed the Deputy Development Commissioner to investigate the matter and submit a report.
He also asked the District Education Officer to investigate allegations that a person named Jalaluddin Ansari had taken money from people on the promise of securing school admissions for children and ration dealership licences.
The Deputy Commissioner directed electricity department engineers to resolve consumer complaints related to billing within the stipulated timeframe. He also instructed the District Child Protection Unit to identify children in need and connect them with the Sponsorship Scheme to support their education and upbringing.
All circle officers were asked to conduct special drives against the illegal occupation of government and non-majrua land and initiate legal proceedings to reclaim encroached land.
Bhuvania further instructed officials to accord priority to public grievances and representations submitted by individuals and institutions. He warned that negligence or unnecessary delays in addressing complaints would invite strict disciplinary action against the officials and employees concerned.
