Deoghar Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar on Friday reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR-2026) of electoral rolls in the Deoghar Assembly constituency and directed officials to expedite pending work to ensure its completion within the stipulated timeline.

The review meeting, held at the Information Building, assessed the status of digitisation, application disposal and field verification under the exercise being carried out in accordance with the Election Commission of India’s directions.

Kumar reviewed the processing of Forms 6, 7 and 8 and instructed officials to clear pending applications without unnecessary delay. He also emphasised the timely uploading of documents and proper field verification to maintain the accuracy and reliability of electoral records.

The meeting also examined the collection and digitisation of Form 6 by Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The SDO stressed that officials must carry out their assigned responsibilities diligently and warned that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.

The Special Intensive Revision is aimed at reviewing electoral records and ensuring that eligible citizens are included in the electoral roll, while discrepancies are addressed in accordance with prescribed procedures. Timely processing of applications and verification at the booth level are essential to maintaining accurate voter lists.

Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Additional Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, BLO supervisors and other officials concerned with the revision exercise attended the meeting.
