Ranchi's Khelgaon will become the stage for a fierce contest from October 22, where every arrow released will carry the weight of medal hopes. The 15th All India Police Archery Competition 2026-27, hosted by Jharkhand Police, will bring together archers from police forces and central security forces across the country for five days of intense competition. Running from October 22 to 26, the event will feature a total of 29 teams—22 state police teams and 7 central security force teams—with 432 participants, including players and team members, taking part.

Among the state teams are Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, and Bihar, alongside hosts Jharkhand. The central forces fielding archers include ITBP, BSF, CISF, CRPF, RPF, SSB, and Assam Rifles.

In this sport, a strong arm alone is not enough. Sharp focus on the target, proper balance, patience, and the ability to stay composed under pressure matter just as much. At this national-level contest, every archer will have to prove their precision with each arrow.

Hosts Jharkhand Police will have the chance to showcase their strength on home ground, while archers from other states and central forces arrive in Ranchi with their sights set on medals.

Come October 22, bowstrings will tighten at Khelgaon, arrows will fly toward their targets, and with every perfect shot, the race for gold will grow more intense.
