Deoghar Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha reviewed the working of the agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy development, fisheries, horticulture, cooperation, and land conservation departments at a meeting held at the Collectorate on Wednesday, expressing concern over delays and directing officials to make sure every eligible beneficiary receives benefits on time. He also underlined the need for coordination among departments to strengthen farmers' self-reliance.

While reviewing the Birsa Seed Production, Distribution and Crop Expansion Scheme and the Self-Reliance Pulses Scheme, Sinha expressed displeasure over the incomplete lifting of allocated seeds by blocks. He instructed officials to ensure timely supply and distribution of rabi seeds through LAMPS/PACS, private suppliers, and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and also called for early completion of soil sample collection targets.

The DDC directed the Cooperation Department to digitise all PACS and set up banking correspondent services. Reviewing livestock schemes covering cattle, goats, pigs, chicks, and ducks, he asked officials to ensure coverage of all eligible beneficiaries. He further instructed them to complete the renovation of pending government and private ponds on time and to maintain transparency in works under the Jal Nidhi scheme, including deep borewells and percolation tanks.

Reviewing agricultural machinery distribution, crop seed supply, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Cards, irrigation schemes, and loan waivers, he called for faster implementation, transparency, and priority for eligible farmer groups. Officials from the concerned departments attended the meeting.
