Godda Police Arrest Man in Theft Case, Recover Loaded Country-Made Pistol and Four Motorcycles

Godda Police have arrested a man allegedly involved in thefts across different police station areas and recovered a loaded country-made pistol, two stolen batteries and four motorcycles from his possession.

The action was carried out under the leadership of Godda Sub-Divisional Police Officer Akash Bhardwaj during a raid at the residence of Sonu alias Mohammad Arbaz Sheikh alias Monu alias Veera, a resident of Fasiya Dangal in Gangta under Godda Town police station.

Police said the raid was conducted in connection with Godda Town police station case number 146/26, registered on August 11 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. During the search, a loaded country-made pistol allegedly concealed inside the house was recovered.

Based on information provided during interrogation, police also recovered two batteries and four motorcycles suspected to have been stolen. The recovered vehicles included a black-red Honda SP, a black-blue Hero HF Deluxe, a black TVS Sport and a black Splendor. All the items were seized following due procedure.

According to police, the arrested accused admitted during questioning that he was involved in stealing motorcycles and entering houses in different police station areas to commit thefts. Police further said he allegedly used a chisel to erase engine and chassis numbers of stolen motorcycles before selling them at low prices.

A separate case has been registered under the relevant provisions in connection with the recovery of the firearm and stolen property. The accused is being sent to judicial custody.

Police step up action against property crimes

Godda Police said a sustained campaign is being conducted against theft and other property-related offences in the district. Along with preventing such crimes, the police are focusing on identifying and arresting suspects and recovering stolen property.

The raid team included SDPO Akash Bhardwaj, Police Inspector Dinesh Mahli of Pathargama division, Police Inspector Madhusudan Modak of Sadar division, Sub-Inspectors Manohar Kumar, Shivdayal Singh, Manish Kumar Yadav, Bholanath Das, Loknath Bhagat, Manoj Kumar Pal and Vinay Kumar, along with personnel of Godda Town Police Station and the armed police force.

Police said continued coordinated action against theft networks is aimed at improving recovery of stolen property and strengthening crime prevention efforts across the district.
