Two Youths Arrested with Brown Sugar in Deoghar, 3.35 Grams Seized During Rikhiya Police Raid


Deoghar: Two youths were arrested with brown sugar during a police raid in Jaruadih village under Rikhiya police station limits on Monday. Police seized 3.35 grams of brown sugar and two mobile phones from their possession. Both accused have been sent to judicial custody. According to police, a tip-off was received on June 30 that brown sugar was being bought and sold from a newly constructed house in Jaruadih village. Acting on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a special raiding team was formed under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Chandrashekhar.The team conducted a raid at the identified location and caught two youths allegedly engaged in the illegal sale of brown sugar. The arrested accused have been identified as 20-year-old Pawan Kumar, a native of Katwan under Mohanpur police station and currently residing at Purana Chitkath under Rikhiya police station, and 19-year-old Sonu Kumar Mahto, a resident of Rampur under Rikhiya police station. Both are residents of Deoghar district.
During the search, police recovered 3.35 grams of brown sugar, including the packets, along with two mobile phones. The seized items have been taken into custody, and further legal proceedings are underway.The raiding team included DSP (Headquarters) Chandrashekhar, Rikhiya Police Station in-charge Prabhat Kumar, Sub-Inspectors Md. Shakeel Ahmad, Anil Kumar and Ajay Kumar Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramswaroop Ram, and other police personnel.
