

Deoghar: A meeting to review the implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral roll was held at the Collectorate auditorium on Sunday under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania. Senior representatives of various recognised national and state political parties attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner held detailed discussions on the technical, administrative and operational aspects of the voter list revision exercise. He appealed to political parties to extend full cooperation to ensure that the entire process remains transparent, fair and error-free.Emphasising the importance of meeting the deadline, the Deputy Commissioner said July 29, 2026, is the last date for submitting applications for inclusion of new names in the electoral roll, correction of errors or retention of existing entries. He urged all eligible citizens, especially first-time voters, to fill out the enumeration form within the stipulated time.He said only those eligible citizens who submit the enumeration form on time will be included in the draft electoral roll for 2026. Existing voters were also advised to verify that their names continue to remain on the electoral roll. He said ensuring the inclusion of every eligible voter is the administration's top priority so that no citizen is deprived of the right to vote.
The meeting was attended by Deputy District Election Officer Sagari Baral, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, the Assistant Public Relations Officer, other officials of the Election Office and representatives of various political parties.
