
Deoghar: A review meeting of the Excise Department was held at the Collectorate auditorium on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania. The meeting focused on the department’s functioning, revenue collection and law-and-order issues across the district.During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure regular inspections of all bars and restaurants operating in the district. He also instructed authorities to maintain continuous monitoring of retail liquor outlets and ensure that liquor is sold strictly at the prescribed Maximum Retail Price (MRP). Strict action was ordered against anyone found overcharging customers or violating excise regulations.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed that CCTV cameras installed at liquor outlets remain fully functional to ensure transparency and security. He warned that any negligence or violation of rules would invite stringent action.
Officials were also instructed to intensify raids across the district to curb the illegal liquor trade. The Deputy Commissioner said that maintaining law and order, along with revenue collection, remains a key priority of the district administration. He stressed that the campaign against illegal liquor should continue with full effectiveness.
The meeting was attended by the Excise Superintendent, District Planning Officer, Assistant Public Relations Officer and other concerned officials and staff members.
