
Deoghar. A review meeting of the Excise Department was held at the Collectorate on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania. The meeting focused on the department’s functioning in the district, revenue collection and issues related to law and order.During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to ensure regular inspections of all bars and restaurants operating in the district. He also instructed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of retail liquor outlets and ensure that liquor is sold strictly at the prescribed Maximum Retail Price (MRP). He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found violating the rules.
Emphasising transparency and security, the Deputy Commissioner directed that CCTV cameras installed at liquor outlets remain fully operational at all times. He also asked officials to intensify enforcement measures and conduct extensive raids across the district to curb illegal liquor trade.The Deputy Commissioner said that along with revenue generation through the Excise Department, maintaining law and order remains one of the district administration’s top priorities. He stressed the need for continued and stringent action against the manufacture, sale and transportation of illicit liquor. The meeting was attended by the Excise Superintendent, District Planning Officer, Assistant Public Relations Officer and other concerned officials and staff members.
