Focus on Enrolling Every Eligible Voter, Political Parties and Media Asked to Extend Support

Deoghar: A meeting with representatives of recognized political parties and media organizations was held at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuvania to discuss the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll. During the meeting, detailed information about the revision programme, being conducted as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, was shared and all stakeholders were urged to actively participate in the process.The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that ensuring the inclusion of every eligible voter in the electoral roll remains the administration’s top priority. He informed participants that October 1, 2026 has been fixed as the qualifying date for the Special Intensive Revision in Jharkhand, while the final electoral roll will be published on October 7, 2026.Detailed information regarding the revision process, required documents, and provisions related to claims and objections was also provided during the meeting. Officials explained the process of voter mapping, inclusion of unmapped voters in the electoral roll, and the procedure for searching names in the 2003 electoral roll. Representatives of political parties were also briefed on various voter categories and related Election Commission guidelines. Officials stressed the need for extensive awareness campaigns to ensure that eligible voters complete the process within the stipulated time using the required documents.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to political parties to create awareness in their respective areas and encourage eligible citizens to participate in the revision exercise. He also requested them to appoint Booth Level Agents-2 at all polling stations at the earliest. Various queries raised by political party representatives were addressed during the meeting, and their suggestions were also discussed.Appealing to the public through the media, the Deputy Commissioner urged citizens to make maximum use of the National Voters’ Service Portal and the Voter Helpline App. He said people can check their names in the electoral roll, apply for new registration, deletion, or correction of entries online from the comfort of their homes. For any assistance or clarification, citizens can contact the toll-free helpline number 1950.At the conclusion of the meeting, media representatives were requested to widely publicize this important national exercise so that greater public awareness can be generated and the goal of complete voter registration can be achieved. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Election Officer, Assistant Public Relations Officer, representatives of political parties, media organizations and officials from concerned departments.
