Ranchi Set for Major PNG Expansion, Pipeline Gas to Reach More Homes Soon

Ranchi: The plan to provide piped natural gas (PNG) directly to households in Ranchi is gaining momentum. In the coming months, PNG services are expected to begin in six new areas, including Morabadi, Hehal, Lalpur, Smart City, and Mesra, bringing much-needed convenience to thousands of families across the capital city.

At present, most households still rely on LPG cylinders, but the rollout of PNG will reduce the hassle of repeated gas bookings and delivery delays. Residents will be able to receive cooking gas directly through pipelines connected to their homes.

According to sources, pipeline infrastructure work is progressing rapidly in these localities. The company responsible for the project is carrying out pipeline installation and household connection work on a large scale to ensure the service starts soon.

PNG, or Piped Natural Gas, is supplied directly to homes through underground pipelines. Unlike LPG cylinders, there is no fear of running out of gas suddenly, and consumers do not need to book refills regularly. The system is considered safer, more convenient, and comparatively economical. Consumers will also pay bills based on actual usage, making it easier to manage monthly gas expenses.

Special attention is being given to the Smart City area of Ranchi, where modern urban infrastructure is being developed. Pipeline laying work is moving quickly there to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply in the future.

The expansion of the PNG network is expected to benefit thousands of households in Ranchi, especially residents living in apartments, multi-storey buildings, and newly developed housing projects.
