
Deoghar: In a shocking twist to a murder case that had created panic in the area, Deoghar police solved the mystery within 48 hours and arrested the victim’s husband for the crime. The sensational case was revealed during a press briefing by Kuldeep Kumar.
Police said that on the morning of May 19, 2026, information was received about the murder of a woman, identified as Mala Devi, at a tea stall located on Karnibag Main Road near the Kunda police station area under Nagar police station limits. Following directions from Praveen Pushkar, a police team along with the special investigation unit immediately rushed to the spot. The body was later sent for postmortem and a formal case was registered at Nagar police station.
Due to the seriousness of the incident, police launched a detailed investigation. During questioning and technical analysis, suspicion fell on the victim’s husband, Shibu Yadav. After sustained interrogation, he reportedly confessed to murdering his wife.
The accused, around 60 years old, is a resident of Bhalwahi village under the Sarwan police station area of Deoghar district. He has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
Police also recovered the blood-stained hoe allegedly used in the murder based on the accused’s confession. Investigators seized blood-marked bricks and the victim’s blue Oppo Android mobile phone from the crime scene.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion and shock among local residents. Police said the investigation is continuing and more details may emerge during further inquiry.
