
Deoghar. Deoghar police have solved the murder case of a woman within just 48 hours, exposing her own husband as the killer in the sensational incident. The case was disclosed during a press conference addressed by SDPO Kuldeep Kumar.
According to police, information was received on May 19, 2026, around 10 am that Mala Devi had been murdered at a tea stall situated along the Karnibag main road near Kunda police station under Nagar police station area. Soon after receiving the information, a police team along with a special investigation unit reached the spot on the instructions of SP Praveen Pushkar. The body was sent for postmortem examination and a case was registered at Nagar police station for further investigation.
Considering the seriousness of the case, the special police team launched an intensive investigation. During the probe, police detained the deceased woman’s husband, Shibu Yadav. Based on technical evidence and sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime.
The arrested accused, Shibu Yadav, aged around 60 years, son of Chetan Yadav and resident of Bhalwahi village under Sarwan police station area of Deoghar district, was later sent to judicial custody.Addressing the media, SDPO Kuldeep Kumar said that the blood-stained hoe used in the murder was recovered on the basis of the accused’s confession and identification. Police also seized a cemented brick with blood stains, a blood-marked chimney brick, and the deceased woman’s blue-colored Oppo Android mobile phone from the crime scene. The shocking revelation has triggered widespread discussion in the locality. Police said further investigation into the case is still underway.
