Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday emphasised the need for sustained efforts to ensure the welfare of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their families while attending the Indian Army’s military outreach camp, ‘Sadaiv Aapke Saath’, in Deoghar, Jharkhand.

The camp aims to provide assistance and support to military veterans, Veer Naris—women whose husbands died in military service—and their families.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-President said the nation must stand by its soldiers and their families in recognition of the service and sacrifices made by members of the armed forces.

He stressed that the commitment shown by soldiers towards protecting the country should be matched by continued support from society and the nation after their service.

Radhakrishnan also underlined the importance of ensuring that veterans and their families receive the respect, care and assistance they deserve. He said the sacrifices of military personnel must be honoured through sustained attention to their welfare and the needs of their families.

The ‘Sadaiv Aapke Saath’ outreach camp reflects the Indian Army’s efforts to connect with veterans and their families and provide a platform for addressing their welfare-related needs.
