Face and head smashed in brutal killing, panic spreads in locality

Deoghar: Sensation spread in the Nagar police station area on Tuesday morning after the body of a 60-year-old woman running a tea stall was found inside her shop near Kunda police station. The deceased was identified as Mala Devi. Criminals brutally murdered her by smashing her head and face. The incident created panic in the entire locality as residents and passersby gathered at the spot after the news spread.
Police recovered a spade and other materials believed to have been used in the murder from the crime scene. After receiving information, SDPO Ashok Kumar Singh, along with the forensic team and police personnel from Nagar and Kunda police stations, reached the spot and started investigation. According to police, the murder is suspected to have taken place on Monday night.Mala Devi was originally a resident of Lakhoriya Bhaluwahi village under Sarwan police station area. She was currently living in Bandha under Rikhia police station area after constructing a house there. For nearly two months, she had been running a tea stall near Kunda police station and used to sleep inside the shop at night.

Daughter received phone call in the morning
According to sources, someone called the victim’s daughter around 10:30 am on Tuesday and informed her about the incident. Soon after, family members reached the spot and broke down in grief. Police were later informed about the matter.During investigation, police found blood stains splashed on the walls inside the shop, indicating the extreme brutality of the murder. The body was taken into custody and sent for postmortem examination.Meanwhile, discussions intensified in the area after reports emerged that the victim’s husband, Shiv Yadav, was missing after the incident. However, police said all angles are being investigated and no conclusion has been reached yet.

Crowd gathered on Deoghar-Sarath main road
As the incident occurred along the busy Deoghar-Sarath main road, a large crowd gathered near the crime scene. Traffic police personnel were also deployed to prevent congestion and maintain law and order in the area. Police are continuing investigation and questioning nearby residents and shopkeepers.
