Chain Snatchers Target Parent Outside School in Deoghar

Deoghar. Incidents of chain snatching continue to create panic in the town. In the latest case, criminals targeted a parent near the B.Ed College on Vidyabhushan Sarkar Road while he had come to drop his children at the school bus point. The entire incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.According to information, victim Mrityunjay Kumar Rai was standing on the roadside in the morning waiting for the school bus after accompanying his children. During this time, an unidentified youth approached him and started a conversation on the pretext of asking about a rented house. While talking, the accused gradually moved closer to the victim.Meanwhile, his accomplice stood at some distance with a motorcycle ready for escape. Taking advantage of the situation, the youth suddenly snatched a nearly two-bhar gold chain and a Rudraksha garland from the neck of Mrityunjay Kumar Rai. After committing the crime, both miscreants fled the spot on the motorcycle at high speed.The incident happened so quickly that nearby residents could not understand what had happened. After the incident, CCTV footage installed in the area was checked, where the entire act was found clearly recorded.The incident has created fear among residents of the locality. Local citizens have demanded increased police patrolling and the immediate arrest of the criminals. Police have started an investigation on the basis of CCTV footage and are trying to identify the accused.
