
Deoghar: A major press conference was held at the Deoghar District Congress office on Friday, where Congress leaders strongly criticised the policies of the Central Government. Addressing the media, CLP Leader Pradeep Yadav and Deoghar District Congress Committee President Rajendra Das raised several issues including inflation, unemployment, caste census and the SIR process.The leaders expressed serious concern over the continuous rise in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and essential commodities. They said the increasing inflation has badly affected common citizens, farmers, labourers and middle-class families. According to the leaders, instead of focusing on public issues, the Central Government is engaged in publicity campaigns.
Pradeep Yadav said unemployment and inflation have reached alarming levels in the country. He stated that the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, edible oil and other daily-use items are continuously rising, badly disturbing the budget of poor and middle-class families. He also said the youth of the country are facing a severe employment crisis.During the press conference, Congress leaders also discussed the caste census issue in detail. They alleged that the OBC community is not being given proper importance and is being systematically ignored. The leaders said the Congress party has always supported social justice and equal participation of all sections of society. They warned that if a separate column for OBC castes is not included in the caste census, the party will launch a nationwide agitation.The leaders also raised concerns over the SIR process, alleging that voters’ rights are being affected and complaints regarding deletion of votes and harassment of voters are emerging from several places. They claimed that such actions could weaken the democratic system of the country.The Congress leaders also spoke about the NEET paper leak issue and said youths across the country are protesting on the streets. They alleged that the future of lakhs of students has been damaged due to irregularities in the examination process.Among those present during the press conference were Pradesh General Secretary Ashok Verma, Pradesh Secretary Nageshwar Singh, senior Congress leaders Ravindra Nath Mishra, Dineshanand Jha, Amrendra Kumar Sona, office in-charge Ganesh Das, media chairman Brijbhushan Ram and several Congress workers.
