
Deoghar: In a major crackdown against illegal narcotics, Deoghar Police arrested two youths with brown sugar during a raid conducted in the Sarath police station area. The operation was carried out on Wednesday following a tip-off under the directions of Superintendent of Police Praveen Pushkar.Led by Circle Officer Krishna Chandra Singh Munda, the police team conducted a raid on the Karhaiya main road in Sarath. During the operation, 21-year-old Vishnu Kumar Yadav, a resident of Dondiya, and 20-year-old Rohit Kumar Das, a resident of Phulchi, were arrested.
During the search, police recovered 4.97 grams of brown sugar from their possession and seized the contraband following due legal procedures. A blue TVS Apache motorcycle was also confiscated. Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was allegedly being used for the purchase, sale, and transportation of the narcotic substance.Police said legal proceedings have been initiated against both accused. Further investigation revealed that Vishnu Kumar Yadav has a criminal history. Several cases related to assault, criminal intimidation, theft, harassment of women, and other serious offences were registered against him at Sonaraythadhi Police Station between 2021 and 2024.
The raid team included Circle Officer Krishna Chandra Singh Munda, Officer-in-Charge Deepak Kumar Sah, Jung Bahadur Singh, Jamshed Alam, and other police personnel.Police officials stated that the campaign against drug trafficking and narcotics-related crimes will continue across the district, and strict action will be taken against those involved in the illegal trade.
