
Deoghar:The administration has intensified preparations to ensure the smooth, safe and well-organized conduct of the upcoming State Shravani Mela 2026. In this connection, an important review meeting was held at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of DC Shashi Prakash Singh. The meeting focused on power supply arrangements, strengthening of infrastructure and implementation of safety measures in the fair area.
During the meeting, the DC issued strict instructions to electricity department officials, stating that no negligence regarding electrical safety would be tolerated. He emphasized that the safety of devotees visiting the Shravani Mela remains the administration’s top priority. All preparations, therefore, must be completed responsibly and within the stipulated time frame.The DC directed officials to identify sensitive areas around the Baba Temple and nearby locations and take extra precautionary measures there. He instructed the department to inspect the strength of all electric poles in the fair area, properly manage hanging wires and ensure that they are fixed safely at adequate heights. He also directed officials to ensure secure fencing around all transformers installed during the mela to prevent any possibility of accidents.
Instructions to Prevent Blackouts in Crowded Areas
Considering the possibility of heavy crowds during the mela, the DC stressed that there should be no power outages in densely populated and high-footfall areas. He instructed the electricity department to identify sensitive spots in advance and arrange alternative backup systems there. Directions were also issued to ensure uninterrupted 24-hour electricity supply along with the installation of high mast lights in important locations.It was also decided during the meeting that all technical and safety-related electrical work must be completed before the commencement of the Shravani Mela. The DC instructed officials to conduct a thorough inspection of the entire mela area and ensure strict compliance with all safety standards.
Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Development Commissioner Piyush Sinha, Sub-Divisional Officer Ravi Kumar, District Public Relations Officer Rahul Kumar Bharti, District Sports Officer Santosh Kumar, Executive Engineers of Electricity Supply Division and Electricity Transmission Department, Assistant Public Relations Officer Rohit Kumar Vidyarthi and other concerned officials.
